Gidon Retzkin, Founder and Head Coach

Coach Gidon Retzkin was a member of the Israeli National Team for nearly a decade. During that time he won Israeli national championships and competed successfully internationally, including 3-time Cadet national champion, 2-time Junior national champion, 10-time National team champion, #1 cadet and junior fencer, and finalist in junior team world championships.

Gidon holds a coaching degree from the prestigious Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sports and holds a bachelor degree in Psychology from Queens College, NY. Being a coach for over 20 years, his students have won numerous competitions in national and international tournaments, and represented USA in Cadet and Junior World Fencing Championships. He has served as a designated USA team coach in many international competitions and serves as an assistant coach at Columbia University in NY.

Brendan Meyers, Foil Coach

As a fencer: over Brendan’s competitive career he was nationally ranked first in every age division from youth-12 to Juniors. Many of them at the same time. He is a multi time national champion, multi junior World Cup winner, 3 time cadet & junior national team member, two time cadet & junior world championship bronze medalist finishing the 2003-04 season 2nd on the FIE Junior Standings. 

As a coach: Brendan has over a decade of coaching experience with Fencers club BBFC and now East coast fencing club! He has experience working with beginners and world champions and Olympians alike; such as Race Imboden and Sam Moelis.
